To bring all classes, races, sectors, and political persuasions to the table to address all causes of poverty and create a sustainable community (Developing aBridges Community, 2008, Phil DeVol).

What is Bridges Out of Poverty?

Bridges Out of Poverty CourseBridges out of poverty is a national initiative started by Ruby Payne, who saw the effects of poverty on a daily basis in her line of work and decided to get a more personal aspect on the effects, causes, and solutions of poverty.  Hope House orchestrates community trainings such as Bridges out of Poverty trainings and the Getting Ahead training program.  We attack the problem at the source covering both side of the spectrum to combat poverty in our community on a personal level.

Bridges Out of Poverty covers mental models of the economic classes, hidden rules, language, and research continuum. The trainings are offered as a 6 hour class and are help four times a year.  BOP trainings for businesses churches and employers can be scheduled individually.

Our Goal

From Bridges Out of Poverty our goal is educate our community on the fundamental causes and stigmas of poverty to create a better understanding and community involvement in the fight against poverty in our area.
